Authors and publisher profiles

One account, unlimited identities

Once you're subscribed to a plan, you can create as many author names and publisher imprints as you need under a single private BooksOasis account. There's no extra account to manage, no separate login, just additional public identities attached to the one account you already have.

What's private and what's public

Your legal name and account details, the ones you gave when completing your profile, are never shown to readers. Everything a reader sees on a book page, the byline, the author page, the publisher name, comes from the author or publisher profile you attached to that listing, not from your account itself.

Author vs publisher profile

An author profile represents an individual author identity. A publisher profile represents an imprint or press, useful if you're publishing work under a small publishing brand rather than, or alongside, an individual author name. You can create and use both from the same account.

Assigning an identity to a book

When you list a book, you choose which author or publisher profile it's published under. A single account with several author names can have completely separate catalogs under each one, with no visible link between them from a reader's perspective.

Contributors on a book

Beyond the primary author, a book's listing can credit multiple contributors in specific roles, author, co-author, editor, or illustrator. This is covered in more detail in the guide on listing a book.
