Publisher Terms

1. Who can publish

You must be at least 18 years old and give us your accurate legal name, date of birth and country before you can publish. We pay real money to authors and need this to do it correctly. It is never shown to readers.

2. Your account

One private account can manage any number of pen names and imprints. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done under your account. Tell us at support@booksoasis.com straight away if you think someone else has used it.

3. Listing and review

Listing a book needs a completed profile and an active plan (see Pricing). By submitting a book, you confirm that:

• You own the rights to everything in it, or have the legal right to publish and sell it.
• It does not infringe anyone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
• It is accurately described, correctly categorised and not misleading to readers.
• Any ISBN you enter was issued to you for that format.

Every book is reviewed before it is published. We may ask for changes, decline to publish, or suspend or remove a published book that breaks these terms. You can take your own book off sale at any time and relist it later; a relisted book is reviewed again.

4. Ownership of your work

You keep full ownership and copyright of everything you publish. By listing a book you give BooksOasis a licence to host, display, sell and deliver it, and for print editions to have it printed and shipped to readers, only to run the marketplace and fulfil orders. The licence ends when you remove the book, except for copies readers have already bought.

5. Plans, billing and pay-as-you-go

Listing plans and pay-as-you-go slots are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your current period stays active until it ends. If a plan lapses, your earnings are held (never forfeited) until you renew, as explained in plan lapses and delisting. Refunds for plans are covered by our Refund Policy.

6. Earnings and payouts

BooksOasis takes no commission on the sale price.

• Ebooks: you earn 100% of the price you set.
• Print editions: the printing cost and a print handling fee of 30% of that printing cost come out first; the rest is yours. Readers pay shipping separately at checkout, so it never comes out of your earnings. Your dashboard shows the printing cost and the minimum price for each print format.
• Refunds: if a reader is refunded, the earning for that book is reversed, or taken off your next payout if it was already paid or requested.

Payouts go to the bank transfer or PayPal details you provide, subject to the minimums described in your dashboard and our payouts guide.

7. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not publish content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, is fraudulent or deceptive, or that you do not have the right to sell. You may not manipulate reviews, rankings or sales. We may suspend or close an account that does.

8. Disclaimers

BooksOasis provides the marketplace, plan-based listing and print fulfilment as described here. We do not guarantee any level of sales, reviews or visibility for a book.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, BooksOasis is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting support. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Either way, earnings owed to you remain payable under the payout rules in your dashboard.

11. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to publish after a change means you accept the updated terms.
