Publishing and royalties
Does BooksOasis take a commission on my sales?
No. You pay a flat plan to list your books and there is no commission on the sale price. On an ebook, you keep 100% of the price. On a print edition, the printing cost and a print handling fee of 30% of that printing cost come out first, and the rest is yours. Readers pay shipping separately at checkout.
How many author names can I use?
As many as you like. A subscribed account can create unlimited author names and publisher imprints. Readers only ever see the public identity you choose, never your account's real name or email.
Can I sell both an ebook and a print edition of the same book?
Yes. One book (a "Work") can have multiple editions: ebook, paperback, and hardcover, each with its own price. See editions and the print-readiness check.
Does my book have to be approved before it goes live?
Yes. Every book is submitted for a short moderation review before it publishes. An admin can approve it, ask for changes, or, after it is live, suspend or remove it if needed.
When and how do I get paid?
Add your payout details (Bank Transfer or PayPal) any time from the dashboard, this is never required before you list or submit a book, only before your first payout. See payouts and payment methods.

Is yearly billing actually cheaper than monthly?
Yes, substantially, on every tier. Compare both on the Pricing page.
What is pay-as-you-go?
A way to add extra book listings beyond your plan's limit, any time, with no minimum. The rate per extra book gets cheaper the bigger your current plan already is. See choosing a plan.
What happens if my plan expires and I do not renew it?
Your published books stay live and keep selling. Royalties from those sales are held, not lost, until you renew. You can also self-delist any of your own books from the dashboard at any time. See plan lapses and delisting.
